Jonathan Jackson, Jr., a New York artist, is a very well-traveled, well-spoken and well-rounded guy. He's also a great personal friend of mine. I was elated to work with him on building his studio's website.
Gaston & Gilberte (GiGi), Jonathan's studio, is working to "raise awareness at the intersection of art and contemporary world events." They're also producing some really cool art, that's not only affordable, but that donates 40% of the proceeds to charitable and support organizations for the injustices/social issues that inspire the work.
As of the date of launch, he just returned from the Gulf coast, the site of one of the worst disasters of my generation, where he spent about a week helping clean up efforts and gathering both inspiration and materials for his Gulf Coast Catastrophe Series, a artistic response to the oil spill in the Gulf.
We used WordPress to manage basic content and I integrated a custom gallery and checkout with a custom plugin. No partners this time, the graphic design is yours truly. If you like it, give me a holler and see what I can do for you.
But, more so than hiring me, go make a purchase and help change the world. I know I will.
